COUNSELLING

Counselling shaped around you

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be dealing with something happening now, trying to make sense of experiences from the past, or noticing that certain thoughts, feelings or patterns keep returning.

I offer integrative counselling for adults and young people. On this page you can read about how I work, what sessions can be like and the different ways we can meet.

What can counselling help with?

You don't need a diagnosis, or a clear explanation of what's wrong, before coming to counselling. Sometimes it's simply a sense that something feels difficult, overwhelming or unresolved.

I work with people experiencing a range of emotional and personal difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety & stress
  • Depression & low mood
  • Trauma & difficult past experiences
  • Bereavement, grief & loss
  • Low self-esteem & confidence
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Anger
  • Life transitions
  • Work-related difficulties
  • Identity
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Personal growth

How I work

Every person brings different experiences, circumstances and reasons for coming to counselling, so I don't rely on one single therapeutic approach.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs and what we are exploring together.

My work may draw on:

  • Person-Centred
  • Humanistic
  • Gestalt
  • Transactional Analysis
  • Interpersonal
  • Internal Family Systems

Counselling can provide an opportunity to understand yourself and your experiences more deeply, recognise patterns and explore the thoughts and feelings that may be affecting you.

What to expect from counselling

A place to talk

Each session is dedicated time to talk about what's happening for you and the experiences that matter to you.

Understanding patterns

Counselling can help you notice thoughts, feelings and patterns that may be affecting how you feel or respond to situations.

At your pace

You decide how much to share and when. There's no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready.

Working together

Counselling is a collaborative process. We can talk openly about how our sessions are going and what feels helpful to you.
